Today, in line with the industry push for Fixed Mobile Convergence, SKY Telecom launched their all new Mobile Extension service. In short, this service allows you to take your fixed line with you on your mobile phone anywhere in Malta or around the world. Your fixed line or extension rings, so does your mobile. The service allows you to make a call from your mobile and pay as though you were using your office phone.

“This is yet another demonstration of our ability to provide the latest in technology coupled with significant cost savings to the business user. Fixed Line Mobility is what the businessman needs and this is the first steps in our provision of such a service” stated Mr. Robert Runza, Chief of Sales and Operations for SKY. SKY Telecom claim that the service is available to a wide range of smart phones including the iPhone, various Nokia models, other Windows Mobile phones and Symbian devices. SKY Mobile Extension utilizes technologies such as SIP and WiFi to enable the Smartphone to register and use the service.
